The Firefox 4.0 mockup reminds Google chrome
Recently, Firefox has placed the initial Windows theme based mockups for Firefox 4.0 in its wiki page. As we have a look at the mockup, it looks like Google Chrome. I think the simple design of Google Chrome has greatly influenced the Firefox development team.
In the proposed design, the rarely called out actions like menu bar, home icon and status bar are removed which gives a clean and clear look for the browser ( as desired by user). The combo Stop/Refresh/Go button is the brilliant idea. By removing all the undesirable options, the actual web space is increased.
It proposes two primary designs: tabs-on-bottom (as in current firefox) and tabs-on-top (which resemble Google Chrome). The tabs-on-top version hides the title bar which has less importance among the net users. Anyway it is better to offer both the designs with an option for users to choose between the two as some users may need to have tabs in close proximity while others need to access the menu items quickly.
It has summarized the pros and cons of the two designs in its wiki as:
Positives:
- Save Vertical Space
- Efficiency/Remove Visual Complexity – Right now the tabs have to be connected to something. So we are adding an extra visual element for them to connect to.
- Shorter Mouse Distance to Page ControlsNegatives:
- Breaks Consistency/Familiarity – Moving things that confuse existing users.
- Title is MIA – With the space removed from the titlebar you only get the truncated version in the tab.
- Longer Mouse Distance to Tabs – Takes longer to mouse to a tab.
- Lost Space – Sandwiched in between the application icon and the window widgets you lose some space.As a Firefox lover, I am looking forward for the release of Firefox 4.0 with a brand new design and exciting features.

New updates at Google webmaster tools

For instance, if you have links in the site’s interior pages such as news, latest additions, music, photography, movies etc and and you want to block the display of the specific page’s site link like www.example.com/photography, you can do it with this feature.
URL removal requests of your site
In the updated version, if any webmaster has removed your site URL, you can get the URL removal request and revoke it easily. In the past, if your site URL had been removed by them by mistake, it will be difficult to undo the request.
Improved navigation on the home page
Google has modified its homepage to make users identify the sites that have been verified and the sites that have not been verified.

WordPress has released a new version 2.8.2 to download
Many webmasters are engaged with WordPress to establish their business by taking advantage of using the blogging software. Upgrade to Firefox 3.5.1 to trounce critical JavaScript glitch in Firefox 3.5
Mozilla released Firefox 3.5 on 30th June 2009, and claimed that it contains more improved features than the previous version, supporting new web technologies, improving performance and ease of use. On July 9, Firefox user “zbyte” submitted an error report to Mozilla’s bug tracking system. According to the report, the browser crashes when text is typed into an input box in the site apport.ru instead of fetching the search result.It is found that the security flaw lies in the Firefox’s Just-In-Time (JIT) Javascript compiler. Due to the vulnerability, the JIT compiler could become corrupt when a user lands on a tainted web page and paves way for an attacker to insert a malicious code on the user’s computer.
Initially, Firefox advised its users to turn off Javascript or use Noscript add-on. Another simple solution was to set “javascript.options.jit.content” to false in the configuration page which can be opened by typing about:config in the address bar.
Finally, Mozilla has come up with a permanent solution by releasing a new version of Firefox 3.5.1 which fixes the critical security vulnerability. Just upgrade your browser to the newer version to safeguard it from Javascript vulnerability. Don’t forget to enable your Javascript after updating your browser to the 3.5.1 version. Another issue that was making Firefox take a long time to load some Windows systems was fixed in the new version.
