E-mail is one of the foremost reasons why people use the internet. Email has a lot of facilities in the form of unlimited storage, voice chats, video conferencing etc.
Coming to online business, emails play a vital role. Information regarding your business can be sent to the potential customers through emails. Email marketing is used to reach out to new customers and maintain healthy business relationships with existing customers.
Once you get the targeted traffic to visit your website, the next step is to turn them into buyers. Email marketing is an excellent way to provide focused information and hence achieve your target.
Some suggestions to turn visitors into buyers are:
v Your website should facilitate subscription to newsletters or special offers.
v Build opt-in lists for subscribers, to send the newsletters and promotional materials, as they want. This will avoid problems of spam.
v Provide offers like discounts or other important information about product in the email, to motivate your subscriber.
v Use company or brand name in the “from” line which helps a recipient to identify who has sent the mail.
v Test each email message before it is sent, using different browsers like Firefox, Internet Explorer etc.
v Make sure your messages are clear to subscribers.
v Use action oriented verbs and phrases like “subscribe me”, “buy now” etc, for call-to-action links.
v Use call-to-action links in the beginning, middle and end of the mail, so that recipients can click whenever they are ready.
v Use paragraph with 1-3 short sentences.
v Highlight the article which includes the features, benefits and advantages of the products and services, in the beginning.
v Eliminate the usage of spam filter words, so that your messages reach your subscriber’s inbox.
v Mail recipients frequently or it won’t be long before you’re forgotten.
