An Industry First: New Micro Jobs Search Portal
Agriya is delighted to announce the launch of an industry first, something that has never existed before until now – a complete search engine of virtually all the micro jobs available on the Internet.
The global recession has left an undeniable mark on the workforce in every country and people have realized that their ‘secure’ 9-5 job with the large corporation is probably not as secure as they thought with multi-national companies quite happy to shed tens of thousands of jobs without a thought on how it will affect those that have dedicated their life to the company. It’s no surprise then that many hundreds of thousands have turned to the Internet to earn a little extra cash to get by or tuck aside for a rainy day.
Fiverr.com really cornered the market in this respect, it was in the right place at the right time, just as people were searching for easy ways to make extra money up pops a site that lets you earn money by doing simple things like a 10 minute voice over or sending a postcard from a city.
It wasn’t long before webmasters and site owners realized that they could cash in on the ultra cheap services being offered and now there are a plethora of fixed price job sites to choose from. While competition is a great thing and we encourage people to start their own micro jobs platform with our FP Platform script, it can be frustrating for buyers who want to get the best bang for their buck but don’t want to spend time searching through all the different micro job sites seeing who offers what at the best price.
Introducing JobReapr.com
This is a brand new service offered by Agriya and is the first of its kind in the industry. Finally buyers have a central location to come and find all the micro jobs on offer and pick and choose those which offer the best deals.

The Internet's First Micro Job Search Engine
As we know, some sites offer only $20 jobs while others offer only $7 jobs. Service providers are using both sites to provide the same service so it makes sense for them to pay just $7! If service providers want to continue offering $20 jobs then they’ll have to increase the value and benefits they give for a $20 job which will massively benefit all the customers and buyers out there.
JobReapr.com is 100% free to use and has a very simple interface. You can search through jobs of different values, search by keyword or even search by different fixed price job websites.
Agriya is working hard to add additional sites to the search engine and if you are the admin of a fixed price job site please let us know if you’d like to get added to the search engine (it’s totally free!).
So please go ahead, give it a whirl and let us know what you think. We’ve built a basic version at the moment but we’d love to hear what YOU think on how it can better serve YOU.
Do You Want To Run A Micro Jobs Search Engine?
The purpose of JobReapr.com is to test our new software, provide an additional service for our current clients and to see if we can start offering it as a product. In the New Year we would like to invite people to register their interest in purchasing this platform to run their own micro jobs search engine so please watch this space!
How Widespread is the Use of SEO among Established Websites?
Is it only the small struggling startup Internet company that desperately uses SEO? There are some who believe this: that established companies do not really need to use SEO. They do, because every reputable company has reputable competitors. Well, what better instance of respectability in a votary for SEO could one ask for then, than the august one of the BBC News site? The company estimates that a third of all visits to the website at BBC News comes from search engines, and it is finally choosing to turn to SEO The BBC plans SEO in this way: each article headline is to have twice as many words, to better help search engines locate it.
So how does a serious organization like BBC News do SEO? All news stories on the website from now on will carry two separate headlines. One of them will be the regular short variety, with about 30 letters in them. These short headlines will appear on the home page, the website index and will appear to cell phone visitors. The SEO one, which will be nearly twice as long, will hold more descriptive words and will be visible to search engines. In a world where most websites are visited via a search engine listing, or by way of Google News, or by Twitter recommendations, SEO has just become the way websites are created these days.
There is just one shortcoming to the use of SEO: the temptation to mangle even flow in an idea , just to bring in the search term as often as possible; or to get greedy, stuffing in important search words whether or not they belong in a sentence. As long as one doesn’t get too greedy, the BBC states, putting in a few extra keywords can only help in making a title more understandable.
Effects of the Microsoft – Yahoo deal on SEO
The recent buzz in the net world is the Microsoft/Yahoo! Deal according to which Microsoft will integrate Yahoo! search technologies into its search engine Bing and Yahoo! will become the exclusive worldwide relationship sales force for both companies’ premium search advertisers. Through the deal, Microsoft has taken a brilliant move to capture the search market.According to figures released by Hitwise last month, Microsoft’s search market share will rise to around 21.5% or roughly one quarter of Google’s share. Ergo, SEO people have to concentrate on Bing while promoting their clients’ sites for reaching all the net surfers.
When we focus on search algorithm, it is clear that Bing concentrates on keyword placement in the sub or root whereas Google focuses on exact keyword matches. By default, Bing’s results are richer than Google and Yahoo. It is more likely that the market for search engine Bing will expand.
If you don’t have an account with the Bing webmaster tool, it is time to start your account and learn the difference between Bing and Google to optimize your site for Bing.
Even if Bing does not overtake its rival Google, it will be the second largest search engine. Hence you have to work for Bing to reach global audiences irrespective of search engines used. Obviously the changes will not take place overnight, but potentially Google could have a much bigger, consolidated competitor in the near future.
Firefox fluxes Wolfram Alpha with the search engine giant Google
Wolfram Alpha, a computational engine offers a single search result instead of thousands of web pages as offered by Google. If Alpha offers the right answer, then it will be the best way to gather data on the net. If it is not the right answer, then the search may end up in vain and user will have to go for another search engine which most commonly is Google.
Even with Google, people might not get desired results on the first page; they have to explore the thousands of search results to get the answer. Both have pros and corns, so Firefox has come up with the brilliant idea of blending Google and Wolfram Alpha, through its new add-on “Wolfram Alpha Google”. Just imagine how useful it will be for surfers to have both kinds of search results on the same page.
The downside of the add-on is that it can clip off the bottom of the Wolfram Alpha results when the search result of Alpha is longer. This can be overcome by setting Google to show 20 or more search results per page. Also the add-on comes with a quick link called ‘Open Wolfram Alpha in New tab’ which allows surfers to view the Alpha results in a different browser tab so that they don’t miss out on any important information.
This plug-in facilitates Google surfers to get the best of both worlds. It is also an ideal solution for comparing the results between these two engines. This add-on is still experimental; you need to be registered with Mozilla’s add-on to be able to instal it in your browser.

Is it worth optimizing your site for Yahoo and MSN?
Search engine optimization is essential for getting top ranks in major search engines. We know that implementing optimizing strategies effectively will help us get loads of traffic and higher rankings in Google. What about Yahoo and MSN? Is it really worth optimizing your site for Yahoo and MSN? Let’s take a detailed look at it.
Optimizing site for Yahoo:
According to one study, 25% searches are done through Yahoo. It means that if your site is not coming up on Yahoo, you will lose 25 percent of your potential visitors.
The following things are the current generalized specifications to achieving better rankings in Yahoo.
The yahoo search engine gives more importance to keyword density. Placing right keywords in the content is very important. Use keywords in link text, while linking pages to each other. Remember keywords with catchy titles will attract maximum number of readers.
Sometimes, Yahoo may fail to index dynamic pages so try to have static pages with keyword-rich content; it will increase the rank of your site on Yahoo. If you have some important dynamic pages on site, prepare a site map or quick links with links to all Web pages. This will help the Yahoo spider to crawl all your pages.
Try to avoid using frames on your site, as Yahoo spider finds it difficult to crawl them.
Optimizing site for MSN:
Optimizing for msn can certainly increase your site rankings on MSN. If your site has fresh & original content that is being added regularly, you can receive tons of traffic to your site.
In order to get better search engine ranking on msn, you have to follow the MSN search engine optimization rules.
Don’t forget that MSN is a keyword sensitive search engine. If you have strong keyword density throughout Title, Description and Keyword Tags, MSN will reward your website with strong search engine rankings. Keep in mind that, you have to place your most important keywords in the title. Keyword rich link text helps in good msn ranking.
You ought to add fresh content on a regular basis to your site so that you can get top rankings on MSN.
Tips to increase site traffic through RSS feed
Having a wonderful site is the first step in online business promotion, but it can’t do anything unless people find it. Remember generating traffic for your website is the most important thing to run a successful business online. RSS (rich site summary) is a fascinating tool that opens a new door to gain visitors.
Ask yourself, is my site content reaching a wide audience? If your answer is yes then it’s great, if the answer is no, try the RSS feed tool that allows you to share updated content quickly. It offers various benefits to webmasters as well as users. Many people are not aware of the concept of the RSS feed and its purpose.
RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audios, and videos in a standardized format.
Benefits of RSS feed for webmasters:
Web publishers can deliver updated web content to end users subscribed to the RSS feed of the site, automatically without taking any initiatives.
Think about the power of social networks. If you maintain a profile in one of the popular social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, you can import RSS feed from that networking site into your accounts at any local site so that whenever your profile is updated, the information will be automatically sent to your social profiles.
If you’re an online advertiser and using the RSS feed in Ads, then newly added ads will be automatically available at your clients’ desktop.
It allows you to share new content on your website, directly with your readers without sending mass emails, or newsletters.
Here are some tips to gain more subscribers:
Offer useful content related to products or services that you are promoting.
Send updates on your latest promotions to them.
Post regular updates and make sure the feed is available for RSS-friendly search engines to crawl.
Attach a link to your feed on your website and encourage subscriptions. With one click of a button, site traffic will be increased.
One more search engine in the market: Cuil
Nowadays most of the people go to the internet to find information whatever they want because it offers the wide variety and quantity of information to them. Search engines help them to find the information using keywords.
There are large number and variety of search engines such as Google, yahoo, msn, Microsoft etc which helps you grab the global audience to your website which may be developed for personal and business purpose.
Among these competitive search engines, one more search engine christened as Cuil has come to the field. Cuil was developed by former Google engineers. It is wholly different from other search engines mainly as Google for page ranking, because the Google will give more priority to inbound links in WebPages but Cuil will give more priority to content of the WebPages rather than link popularity.
It displays the search results in more friendly way, as you can view the results in two or three columns. Also provides a list of categories related to the topic, using which the exact site can be identified without the deep knowledge in the search topic.
A well search engine has to deliver not only text results for viewers but also it should offer images, videos, audios and news. But Cuil seems to lack this option. At present it delivers search results with related thumbnail image when compared to Google.
Google delivers more relevant ads and has more advertisers in its system but Cuil doesn’t offer any ads on its page.
Privacy policy of Cuil states that it does not store records of users’ search activity or IP addresses whereas other search engines stores this information.
When compared to other competitive search engines, Cuil lacks lot of things. This article represents the feedback on the Cuil compared with other competitive search engines. The feedback is given with the thought that it should help in improving the Cuil in future.
